I can't believe the housing market! it's so hard to find a reasonable rent now in Vernon, I used to pay $700 for a 2 bedroom basement suite with all utilities included and then I was evicted by the new owner so he could make more money. Everything I've looked at is $900 and over, my income hasn't gone up by this much.

the olympics will do two things: A) SHORT TERM: lots of rich business owners will profit like pirates, while joe and jane paycheck figure out how to withstand the financial punishment. B) LONG TERM: it will leave us with the decaying legacy of architectural monuments to the death of common sense, which the government (without the people's input) will feel obligated to upkeep, and therefore taxes will be raised again.
